People in this country have become entirely too polarized when it comes to firearms. As two head instructors who are non-crazy, working professionals (one in the medical field, the other in marketing) who are also multiple-certified firearm instructors, people assume when we talk about you, our students, getting their firearm permits, there’s a general assumption we’re of a certain party affiliation, of a general educational level, dress in camo all the time, etc.
Quite frankly, that annoys us a lot. The firearm community in the U.S. is enormous and cross-sections multiple races, demographics, income levels, and general walks of life. For whatever reason a lot of people in our great country want to put you in a box if you enjoy firearms or are interested in them.
Don’t let other people put you in a box. As it pertains to this course, that’s a double entendre.
Bear with us for a moment: Jonathan Swift said, “It is useless to attempt to reason someone out of a thing he was never reasoned into.”
We believe teaching both how and why we should responsibly use firearms, Waypoint Defensive can help bring more people into the firearm community, provide safe fundamentals, and ultimately instill a sense of excitement in our students. That’s what we ultimately want for you--knowledge, safety, and confidence. We wouldn’t charge below market value for this course if we were in it to get rich. That’s not the case for us.

Last note: We designed the course from the ground up to provide as much information as possible (hitting the state requirements and then building from there). It’s what we wished we’d known when we got started out in this world, so you get to benefit from our experience.
